Our simple communication system will ensure that any confusion is sorted out, all bad behaviour is resolved, enabling your dog to be happy and calm, and a dog to be truly proud of.

  • Nuisance Barking

Most of us try not to upset our neighbours. So the last thing you want is a letter of complaint from the council about your barking dog. A happy dog is a calm dog, and a barking dog is a dog under stress, so it’s in your own dog's best interests to find out what’s upsetting your pet and alleviate them from from all that stress.

At Angel Dog Training, we aim to treat the source of the problem, the reason why your dog is barking. We’ll get to know your dog and its surroundings and then change its behaviour accordingly. Using our behaviour modification system, we can completely and permanently cure unwanted nuisance barking.

    Destructive Behaviour

Dogs have a natural desire to chew. The abundance of chew toys available can help satisfy this need but are not always enough on their own. When chewing becomes a behavioural issue, serious damage can result. Furniture ruined, designer shoes torn to pieces, wallpaper stripped, phone cables stripped bare – the list is endless - and expensive. It’s not only chewing that can cause problems. Dogs enjoy digging too and keen gardeners do not appreciate having their prize blossoms uprooted or major excavations appearing on their lawn.

Some destructive behaviours are caused by frustration, or poor nutrition, which could be a form of separation anxiety or something more complex. As with all training services, we aim to find the reason for the behaviour rather than simply treat the symptoms.

    Over-exuberance & Hyperactivity

Many dogs, especially young ones, often seem to be bursting with energy. Sometimes this high energy crosses a line where the dog is so revved up it simply can't stop due to the adrenaline response that is produced. Over-exuberance is a behavioural issue that Angel Dog Training can resolve from the comfort of your home. Within several visits, we will identify the root causes of the problem – the reason for the behaviour. Working with you and your dog, we'll help you both establish a positive relationship through communication and give you complete control of your dog.

    Jumping Up

Jumping up can be an exceptionally annoying behaviour for dog owners. For non-dog lovers, it can be quite frightening and, especially with larger dogs, there is always the danger of injury from falling over as a result.

Jumping up is a behavioural issue that Angel Dog Training will resolve with you as a team from the comfort of your home. In as little as 1 to 3 visits, we will get to the root of the problem – the reason for the behaviour. Working with you and your dog, we'll mentor you to ensure both owner and dog have established a positive balanced relationship through effective communication and consistency giving you a remarkable transformation curing your dog from jumping up.

    Pulling on lead

A dog that's pulling on the lead can take all the enjoyment out of going for a walk together. There's not just the discomfort of holding on to the lead for dear life there's also the worry of what would happen should you let go.

Lead pulling is a behavioural issue that Angel Dog Training can resolve starting from the comfort of your home. Within the first visit, we will get to the root of the problem – the reason for the behavior, and teach you how to achieve an unbelievable transformation. Working with you and your dog, we'll help you both establish a positive relationship through communication and give you complete control of your dog including establishing perfect loose lead heel walking.

    Inappropriate Toileting Problems

Even adult dogs can sometimes toilet inappropriately. Angel Dog Trainings accelerated house training system teaches your dog to be clean in just three weeks – often less, in fact, even in a few days! By utilising our deep understanding of the driving factors in a dog’s natural instinct which influences them in deciding where to toilet, your dog will become 100% clean within 3 weeks! (Often much less). Our simple procedure capitalises on the dog’s own motivating factors – no treats, no training pads and no cajoling or harsh tactics like rubbing the dog’s nose in its own excrement. Whether you have a garden or not or live in a flat or a boat, our accelerated method has unrivalled success, whatever the environment, whatever the home.

    OCD -Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

OCD – is surprisingly common in both humans and dogs where it’s also known as CCD (Canine Compulsion Disorder). More often than not the disorder develops as a learned response from human input or the dog’s immediate environment. The dog develops an associated obsession towards a part of its body or to an object in or around it. These behaviours such as tail chasing may appear amusing to humans but if left alone and untreated can lead to self-harming and an inability to function socially, affecting the dog’s wellbeing.

Obsessions often develop in dogs that are stressed, anxious or bored. Destructive behaviours to items in gardens, homes or cars can result. Sometimes there’s uncontrollable aggression, which is particularly upsetting for the dog’s owner. Associated symptoms include repetitive actions, continuous digging, scratching, biting or licking, barking at nothing or attacking or shying away from inanimate objects.

Provided that there is no underlying medical condition that is acting as a contributory factor such as a brain lesion or epilepsy, OCD behaviour from learned responses can be unlearned and modified. Angel Dog Training are experts in effective dog behaviour therapy and have the skills and experience to identify the source of the problem and apply appropriate therapy to cure the problem.

    Stealing Food

Dogs are opportunists, scavengers and predators. So though we may classify taking food from work surfaces or cupboards in the kitchen as stealing, to the dog by instinct it's natural behaviour – unless taught otherwise by us humans!

Stealing food is a behavioural issue that Angel Dog Training can resolve in the comfort of your home. In as little as a few hours we will get to the root of the problem – the reason for the behaviour. From there we mentor you and your dog with a couple of follow up visits where necessary, to ensure you maintain the positive relationship through effective communication and consistency giving you complete and sustainable transformation of your dogs previous food stealing habit.

    Nutritional Imbalance Considerations

In the wild, everything dogs ate was raw. They would scavenge and eat anything edible – from partly decomposed herbivorous animals to fruit and grass. That's why they have such incredibly robust immune systems and why they need really strong pro-biotics to stay healthy.

Angel Dogs are passionate about the well being of dogs, and we're more than willing to provide free suggestive advice should you wish. In our experience, natural feeding has numerous benefits over a commercially processed diet (tinned or dried food). These benefits include better overall health, less skin and coat problems, less dental problems, less (and easier to dispose of) droppings and, in some cases, less digging and chewing behaviour. Your Angel Dogs Behavioural Therapist will provide you with some interesting factual literature to help you make your own choice.

    Livestock Chasing

A dog that worries, attacks or chases livestock could be contravening the 1953 Dogs (Protection of Livestock) Act. For you the owner, the outcome may be paying a hefty fine or compensation. For your dog, it could be a destruction order. Farmers can legally shoot a dog that is chasing or worrying livestock on their land.

Livestock chasing is a behavioural issue that Angel Dog Training will resolve commencing from the comfort of your home and then working together outdoors in a carefully controlled environment. In two (maybe three) visits, we can get to the root of the problem – the reason for the behaviour. Working with you and your dog, we'll help you both establish a positive relationship through communication and give you complete control of your dog, curbing the most enticing temptation to chase livestock off-lead.
